Calderdale Safety Net Blog
23rd Oct 2009
Hello all
A very busy few weeks for the Safety Net project in Calderdale
Firstly the date for the next meeting is set for Tuesday 24th November at Halifax Library 4pm – 6pm. All are welcome to attend, emails and messages have been sent out to the contacts locally.
I’ve been having conversations/meetings and informal chats with a number of relevant people -
Those attending the Pennine Magpie workshop
Those attending the social evening at The Works in Sowerby Bridge
Those attending the social evening at the Horse and Jockey in Halifax
Those who attended the launch of the Stars in the Sky Event
Julie from Ravenscliffe School – and I’ll be going back to do a presentation to the 6th Form pupils in a few weeks
Sail – Hate Crime Lead for Calderdale Council and getting involved in his work and accessing his local links
I’ve also been to the ‘Together for Change’ Hate Crime conference in Leeds today and made some good links with people and professionals from all across West Yorkshire – there was a piece on Look North about the conference on Friday 23rd October – if you are quick have a look at

Nationally I’ve added details of the True Vision Hate Crime recording packs to the website and had email conversations with a number of interested people. We are promoting the project at various conferences either in person or by having flyers and information at them.
